How Poly Intake is a Reliable Solution for Outboard Jet

Outboard jet intakes are reliable mainly for jet skis and boats that sail on shallow water. During sailing, the outboard faces many dirt and stones, which can cause the standard intake to crack or break. So it’s better to replace the standard outboard jet intake with a poly intake for longevity.

Provides High Resistance

Poly intake is a polyurethane jet foot that is highly resistant because of its unique chemical composition. When your boat collides with rocks, the polymer chain, instead of breaking up, shows flexibility and returns to its original shape afterward.

It is also shock-absorbent and absorbs the force when your boat bumps into rocks.

Reduces Damage to Impellers

The impeller is the most important component in any outboard jet pump because it draws water in at high pressure and throws it away. This often breaks when boats collide with rocks. If you use poly intake, your impeller will have a lower damage rate.

When normal aluminum encounters rock, grate bars usually bend or break, increasing the gap. But poly intake remains in its position, which also avoids big rocks from entering the impeller.

Promotes Longevity

When you use poly intake instead of standard intake, the lifespan of your outboard jet pump and motor increases.

If you use standard intake, when the boat or jets bump into a rock at high speed, the shockwave travels to the engine’s internal components, causing damage and cracks. But poly intake absorbs the shock and protects the engine, which promotes the longevity of the jet. Aluminum also corrodes with the passage of time, but polyintake shows no rust.

Increases Durability

Every jet owner looks for the quality that not only performs better but also provides durability. The durability of the outboard jet intake also gives sailors a sense of security. Using a standard outboard intake always keeps sailors on edge about the risk of breakage from hard rocks.

A jet or boat faces many things under the boat from the surface of the water. High speed causes several types of damage to outboards and other internal parts of the boat. Poly intake provides extreme durability and tolerates all the bumps from high speeds.

Improves Maintenance

Standard intake needs regular maintenance, which can make you pay more every time. Using polyintake improves the maintenance because it is a long-lasting material and doesn’t require much effort.

To fix aluminum, a welder fixes cracks by welding, which is expensive, but there is no need for welding in polyurethane because it never breaks. Standard intake also needs filing to smooth the sharp edges, unlike polyintake.

Provides Better Performance

Compared to standard intake, Polyurethane is smoother and has lower friction, which allows water to flow faster into the jet pumps. Because of the constant flow of water, impellers always have maximum grip, which gives faster acceleration to the jets.

Outboard jet owners prioritize quality, which is why many of them are upgrading the standard intake to a poly intake, which promises high resistance and better performance over a long period of time.
